Adopt An Animal

The Naankuse Foundation Wildlife Sanctuary is not species-specific, any animal from the wild in need of a second chance being welcomed with open arms. Release once rehabilitated is the ideal outcome. However, this is not always possible. Some animals are simply too habituated to humans, significantly reducing their survival chances if they were to embrace freedom.

For a nominal fee per year, you can symbolically adopt a sanctuary animal. You’ll receive a personalised certificate with a photo of your adopted darling, and an annual update on who is sure to become your favourite family member.

Animal Care

Captive animal care comes with immense responsibility. Both physical and mental needs must be met in a manner best befitting the species concerned.

Strict Ethics

Exotic animal trade, exploiting animals purely for commercial gain and cruel practices that contradict the principles of animal welfare, fiercely contravene the foundation’s stringent ethics.

Animal Diets

A correct and measured diet, enrichment activities and ample space are just some of the ingredients creating an ethical and compassionate recipe for animal care.

For The Love of Animals

The dedication of the Naankuse team ensures that all captive animals live a life most suited to their natural behaviour, while at the same time receiving the constant care they so deserve.

No Breeding

Breeding in captivity is not only prohibited by law in Namibia but fits perfectly into the values of the Naankuse  Foundation.
