December 2014 and a tiny monkey made its way to the N/a’an ku sê Foundation Wildlife Sanctuary. Having been found on a boat docking at the port of Walvis Bay in Namibia, this little fellow most likely was an illegal import. The N/a’an ku sê Foundation Wildlife Sanctuary opened its heart as it always does, giving the diminutive vervet monkey a loving home. Irresistibly named Gollum, our tiny charge was lovingly hand raised with the dedication and experience intrinsic to sanctuary staff.

Unfortunately, the release of Gollum was not possible due to his habituation to humans. He instead found a forever home at the sanctuary and shares a large enclosure with fellow vervet monkeys – all having been orphaned in situations of conflict and irresponsible human interference.

We continually stimulate our vervet bunch with enrichment items and activities. The emotional wellbeing of our sanctuary residents is a top priority – they deserve it!

Let Gollum add his monkey magic to your life. You can symbolically adopt this fantastic fellow for only USD 110.00 per year. Every dollar supports the animals of the N/a’an ku sê Foundation Wildlife Sanctuary.
