Early 2017 saw the arrival of our amazing Amy. Having been kept as a pet, Amy sought the solace of the N/a’an ku sê Foundation Wildlife Sanctuary once her owners realised that she was far better suited to a wilder life. In keeping with our motto of returning the wild to the wild, Amy was introduced to a fellow group of meerkats, her release being our ultimate goal.  But every now and then, with meerkat politics being a rather tricky affair, some meerkat munchkins are accepted by their suricate peers with difficulty. And this was the unfortunate case with Amy. An injury resulted in the loss of her left front leg, thus Amy has lavished in the comforts of the sanctuary ever since. Her disability certainly hasn’t hampered her zest for life!
