We were thrilled to finally take the next step in the journey for some of our rescued baboons. Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to create enrichment challenges from scratch, preparing these incredible animals for a new chapter in their lives.
For years, the baboons at N/a’an ku sê have lived in a safe and supportive environment, rescued from difficult situations and cared for with the utmost respect. Our sanctuary has been their home, providing everything they need to heal and thrive. Considered a pest species in Namibia, baboons have historically had no chance of returning to the wild. But now, after years of dedication and planning, we are ready to give them the ultimate gift: freedom in their natural habitat.
For the first time ever, N/a’an ku sê is preparing to release a group of baboons back into the wild. This monumental step has been made possible through extensive research and careful planning, including the identification of the perfect release site and the creation of a soft-release enclosure to ensure a smooth transition.
What once seemed impossible is now within reach, and you can be part of this extraordinary journey. Your donation will directly support the release process, covering costs such as the soft-release enclosure, tracking and monitoring the baboons after release, and ongoing care as they adjust to life in the wild.
With your support, these baboons can experience the freedom they were always meant to have and live in an environment where they can truly thrive. Join us in giving them a future of freedom.
