On 18 June 2025, Marlice van Vuuren and San elder #Oma /Kunta took the first step in a journey that will carry Namibia’s Indigenous knowledge to the global stage. They attended their visa interviews ahead of their invitation to the Harmony Summit, hosted by The King’s Foundation in Gloucestershire, United Kingdom.
At the summit, Marlice and #Oma /Kunta will have the honour of meeting King Charles III and Queen Camilla, joining Indigenous leaders and conservationists from around the world in a conversation about how humanity can live more gently on the Earth.
The Harmony Summit will spotlight ancient knowledge systems, survival wisdom, and sustainable practices from cultures deeply connected to nature. Representing Namibia’s first people, #Oma /Kunta will share the San’s time-honoured understanding of life in balance with the land — a perspective shaped by thousands of years of coexistence with nature.
Together with Marlice, he carries the heartbeat of Namibia to one of the world’s most respected platforms. This is more than a journey — it’s a moment of global recognition for Indigenous voices.
Follow along on the journey as we share more updates.
