This achievement marks a milestone for Namibia, placing Neuras on the international stage as a serious contender in the world of fine wine and spirits – all while supporting a greater mission of conservation and community upliftment.

Founded in France, the Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge is one of the world’s most respected wine competitions. Wines are blind-tasted by an international panel of experts and rated based on strict quality standards. The competition is known for highlighting excellence in wine production across all continents, giving smaller producers the opportunity to shine on a global stage.

Winning at Gilbert & Gaillard is a prestigious award that reflects exceptional craftsmanship, authenticity, and terroir – all qualities embodied by Neuras.

Nestled at the meeting point of desert and mountain, Neuras Wine and Wildlife Estate is a true Namibian gem. As one of the driest vineyards on the planet, its very existence is a triumph of determination and vision. What makes Neuras truly unique is that it operates not just as a winery, but as part of N/a’an ku sê, with all proceeds supporting wildlife conservation and community upliftment across Namibia.

From rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife to running early childhood and adult education programmes, every bottle of Neuras wine contributes to lasting impact. At the heart of this success are the people whose passion and commitment made it possible:

Dr. Rudie van Vuuren, Managing Director and Co-founder of the N/a’an ku sê:
“We created Neuras to be more than a vineyard – a place where wine and purpose meet. To see our wines recognised at the Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge is not just a win for us, but for every life we touch through our conservation efforts.”

Braam Gericke, Winemaker at Neuras:
“Working with the extremes of Namibia’s landscape is both a challenge and a gift. These wines are shaped by the sun, the soil, and our unwavering dedication. This international recognition is an honour that reflects the soul we pour into every bottle.”

Marlice van Vuuren, N/a’an ku sê Foundation Executive Director and Co-founder:
“These awards speak to the power of passion – for people, for wildlife, and for our land. At Neuras, every harvest helps create a better future for Namibia.”

With the Gilbert & Gaillard medals now enhancing its bottles, Neuras Wine and Wildlife Estate continues to elevate Namibian wine on the world stage – proving that world-class quality can flourish hand-in-hand with environmental stewardship and social good.
