"What I enjoy most about N/a’an kusê is well, everything ... from the daily wildlife tasks such as cutting meat for the carnivores and baboon walks to partaking in animal releases, research, and care."
Gus Brihn, volunteer USA - April 2008 and again in Dec 2008-Jan 2009

Our volunteers are an important and special part of the project and without you we could not continue our vital work to make a difference to the lives of the animals and people of Namibia.

WHY VOLUNTEER SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

Our vision is an Africa where humans and wildlife can live and thrive together

Our mission is to conserve the land, cultures and wildlife of Namibia and rescue
species threatened by an ever-shrinking habitat.

By volunteering and giving your time to this special place, you help can help us achieve our vision. All the money raised through our volunteering program goes directly back into the project which provides employment, education and accommodation to the local Bushman community and helps to ensure the rescue, survival and rehabilitation of the animals which are housed in natural environments around the site.

By volunteering at one of our exciting and innovative projects you will have the opportunity to make great friends with your fellow volunteers, build special relationships with the animals we have on the farm and create your own unique African dream. Each of our four projects offers its own rewards and experience.

We are looking forward to seeing you at N/a‘an ku sê soon!

“We would really recommend NamibRand to anyone with an interest in wildlife research. It allows you to see another aspect of wildlife conservation with the added bonus of stunning views. Lars and Christine are two of the most welcoming and accommodating people we've ever met and we can't imagine two better people to run this project. Learning to track big cats is an experience you'll never forget, as well as seeing so many animals in their natural habitats. We had an amazing time and would really encourage others to go to NamibRand too.”
Sophie and Izzy, 19- Carnivore Conservation volunteers, August 2010

"For me N/a’an ku sê is my second home, I've been there three times now and every time it just gets better. The baboons are the main reason I love it so much, the interaction you get with them is incredible! Being a baboon mother is hard at times but it's also so rewarding when you see them all grown up and playing in their enclosure, plus nothing can compare to a baboon hug. The experiences I've had have been unforgettable, watching Caitlin the leopard run free will stay with me forever. It has been an absolute privilege to spend so much time working somewhere that cares so greatly about the lives of these amazing animals and working with some brilliant people."
Caroline Walkley, England – volunteer April 2010

Charlotte Seitz
"My N/a’an ku sê experience has been such a great adventure and sharing in Marlice and Rudie's dream has definitely changed my life. I learned new things, met great people from all over the world and I will certainly be coming back!"
Charlotte Seitz, Switzerland - volunteer February 2009

Eleanor Scully
"It was a fantastic opportunity to see how a cheetah capture and release works from beginning to end, and to see a wild cheetah so close. It is an experience none of us will forget when we return to our jobs or studies and the relative normality of day to day life. It has been a privilege to work with a team that cares so deeply about the wild carnivores of Namibia that they dedicate all of their time and energy to their humane capture and release, and I hope they can continue to do so for a long time to come."
Eleanor Scully, UK - volunteer March 2009

Kathryn Reid

"My experience at N/a’an ku sê was one of a life time. Both the Bushman Clinic and the wildlife experience is something I will talk about forever. I think it is important for volunteers to share with the rest of the world, to raise awareness of our beautiful planet and the beautiful people who devote their lives to humanity and ecology."
Kathryn Reid, Canada - volunteer September 2008
