Preparing the daily feeds, cleaning out enclosures and feeding the animals on the farm.

Spending time with many of the animals including our baby baboons, young semi-tame cheetahs, meerkats, caracals and leopard cubs.

Feeding the large wild carnivores including lions, leopards, cheetah and wild dogs.

You may get to feed, meet or walk with our two gorgeous leopard cubs, Shakira and Ombelie, who were brought to us by a farmer who removed them from their mother in December 09. This is a wonderful and very exciting experience. Watch our leopard cubs video clip*

Caring for the orphaned baboons which play a large part in out project. We currently have over 20 baboons from six months to four years old. You will rotate responsibility for bottle feeding and sleeping overnight with the five baby baboons which are currently too small to live in the camp with the young baboons. Baby, senior and big baboon walks take place a number of times every week to give all our volunteers the chance to bond with the baboons, allow them to forage naturally and to give them regular exercise.

Enclosure and border fence patrol.

Project work which may include debushing areas, fence removal or building waterholes.

Assisting with N/a’an ku sê & Clabile's Clever Cubs Bushman school on the farm.

Big cat conservation work which may include searching for cheetah marking trees, locating collared carnivores through telemetry and GPS tracking, identifying, counting and tracking carnivore spoors, checking box traps, undertaking game counts and building or clearing out temporary enclosures for new residents.

Fun activities available in your spare time:
During your time at N/a’an ku sê, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a number of activities, included in the cost of the programme. These may include; a nature walk across the farm or an eco challenge competing in groups against your fellow volunteers, followed by a braai (barbecue) and an overnight sleep out in the field, star gazing and waking up to a fantastic sunrise!
During your free time, there is a small swimming pool available for your use as well as a volley ball net and a lawn area for you to relax on in the sun.
Occasionally the volunteers play football against the local Bushmen.

Optional paid for activities:
Additional activities which are not included in the cost of the programme include; day trips to Windhoek to enjoy a Sunday buffet at the famous Jo's Beerhouse, dinner at our beautiful Guest Lodge, abseiling and paintballing.

* Please bear in mind that the leopard cubs are continually growing and getting stronger and volunteers may not be able to walk or go in with them at all times, especially if this represents a danger to the person or animal. Please be aware of this especially if you are booking your visit a long time in advance.
