"Help make a difference to children such as Kanna 12, who suffers with foetal alcohol syndrome and polio. This has left him challenged both physically and in the classroom and sadly the main schools won't take due to his disability. Our school will give Kanna the chance he deserves to learn and develop."
Kanna

Our current teacher Jill is passionate about helping the children fulfil their potential "Our school is giving the children a chance of real childhoods where they can learn and play in a safe and positive environment. They have already developed significantly since the project started but the continuation of this vital resource and the future of all these children is dependent on securing donations.

Mina and Bettie are both mothers living and working on the farm and between them they have four children who attend schools up to 300km away "At the moment we don't know if our children are safe, if they are going to school or if they have any problems. We can't send them money as it will be stolen before it reaches them and we can't travel to the school to meet their teachers or to hear how they are getting on. We're so excited about the plans and would love to have our children back to live safely with us"

  • Bushmen are treated as third class citizens and live in extreme poverty.
  • Many Bushman children suffer from malnutrition, disease, discrimination and abuse.
  • Adult onset diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer are sharply increasing in Bushmen and alcoholism has become prevalent
Employment We provide an important source of employment and training to over 20 San Bushmen and their families in a variety of roles.

Education our new pre-primary school sponsored by the Clabile Trust, Clever Cubs, started in November 2009 and provides a full curriculum including English, Maths, Art & Crafts, Sports and Environmental Studies to over 15 children.

We have also secured mainstream education for 10 of the older children which is a huge step forward in providing them with a better future. In order to enable the children to continue to live safely with their families we transport them the 40km into school and back every day.
Funding for a school minibus: If you or your company would like to get involved in fundraising or sponsoring the school minibus we need to take the children to school and back everyday please email donationsnaankuse@iway.na

Funding our Clever Cubs teacher: N$10,000 (approx £900, €1000) could fund our teacher for one month to provide consistent teaching to our 20 pre-primary Clever Cubs.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT WE ARE EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH OUR EMAILS BEING RECEIVED BY HOTMAIL ACCOUNTS. IF YOU MAKE AN ENQUIRY VIA HOTMAIL AND HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM US WITHIN TWO DAYS PLEASE RE-SEND AND WE WILL REPLY VIA AN ALTERNATE EMAIL ADDRESS. THANK YOU.

Accommodation We have built a permanent Bushman village on the farm to provide a safe, healthy and happy family environment for the Bushman children and their families. The brick houses replace the variety of tents and wooden shacks that the families usually live in.

Healthcare Our Lifeline Clinic is entirely funded by voluntary donations and our full time Nurse and volunteer Doctor provide primary healthcare to over 3,500 patients a year.
