THE SAN BUSHMAN CHILDREN AT N/A’AN KU SÊ
  • In Namibia, fewer than one in five Bushman children attend primary school
  • Bushmen are treated as third class citizens and live in extreme poverty
  • Many Bushmen children suffer from malnutrition, disease, discrimination and abuse
Sponsoring a child can make a real difference to their lives and provide them with access to education and a better, brighter future. Your donation can help us to keep our Clever Cubs pre-primary school running, fund school fees, buy uniforms, purchase educational items and transport the older children to the mainstream schools in the capital.

In return for your sponsorship you will receive a personalised certificate, a photo and regular updates from your sponsored child. To make a donation and sponsor a child please email donationsnaankuse@iway.na

Denzel

Dara

The Clever Cubs nursery class continues to expand with all of the tiniest ones coming along including baby DARA, George's baby sister, who was born in May 10 and DENZEL who was born at the end of 09. The older nursery children love all the babies and help carry them around which is very funny to watch!
Caitriona Toddler CAITRIONA is the youngest member of one of our Bushman families on the farm. She has been at school since she was a tiny baby and is developing so well as a result. Caitriona runs to school every morning and loves throwing the ball. She also just loves to dance!
JESSICA is Caitriona's older sister. Jessica is growing up quickly and has become very active. She is always the first one to get to school.... as well as the first to get on the swings! She and takes great pleasure in giggling at much of the world around her and enjoys making things with play dough and cuddles! Jessica
Kanna KANNA is Anna's younger brother. He suffers from polio and alcohol foetal syndrome which have left him challenged both physically and in the classroom. However, he loves school, enjoys counting and colouring and always has a smile on his face. In the mornings Kanna works as the driver of the Sarah Stapleton Express Donkey Cart and leads the cart and volunteers round to check the border each day for any holes.
The family's older sister, ANNA, is and has been unable to attend school for most of her life. Anna assists Tepletene with the nursery class of children and is very helpful and dedicated. Anna is always on time and loves maths, which she learns at Clever Cubs in the afternoons. Anna
Andy ANDY is a very affectionate, smiley little girl. Andy is a really caring and sharing child and loves playing with her friends. Andy loves to feel the sand under her feet and is forever kicking off her shoes, leaving her teacher to run around after her to make sure she doesn't lose them. Andy thinks this is hilarious!
DESHI is Andy's younger sister. Like Andy, Deshi loves attention and cuddles and is always sharing and playing with others. She enjoys counting, singing and loves tucking into her lunchtime meal. She also loves playing in the water and jam sandwiches! Deshi
Josephine JOSEPHINE is very promising academically although her schooling thus far has been limited. Josephine is always eager to go to school, she enjoys colouring and showed great improvement at her first term at mainstream school. Josephine enjoys arts and crafts and likes to make things.
MARTHA loves learning and is extremely bright and a good artist. She likes to sing and enjoys books. She is quite shy but is a sensitive soul and likes to look after her younger peers. Martha was one of the top in her class in her first term at mainstream school. Martha

Bessa's older brother, CHRISTIAN is a real sweetheart and loves looking after his baby brother. He likes to play games and always looks forward to lunchtime! He particularly enjoys charades, where he does fantastic impressions of different animals. Christian is a fairly quiet boy but he loves to sing and is always eager to learn. Christian

She enjoys spending time with her friends and singing. Her favourite meal is corn on the cob! Sofia
George Toddler GEORGE is a real cutie; he always has a huge smile and loves playing with the volunteers. George was diagnosed with Epilepsy when he was just two years old and now takes a series of medicines to prevent him fainting and hurting himself. Sponsoring George will help to cover the cost of his vital medicines which he has to take twice a day. George is growing up into a big boy and loves playing with toy cars.
Toddler FRANS is a huge fan of the spaghetti bolognaise lunch! He loves to play with the toy wild animals, especially the zebras. His spoken English is improving rapidly and he is becoming much braver at break, bringing the football to the bigger boys when they kick it offside! Frans

Although LEVY cannot speak very much English at all, he arrived at the farm in 2009 full of enthusiasm for playing with the other children and joining in the fun. He is gradually developing in confidence and starting to try out English phrases that he hears the other children use. Levy
